Dalarna University is one of Sweden’s more recent institutions of higher education, established in 1977. It is situated in Dalarna, 200 kilometres north-west of Stockholm.
The college currently has about 18000 students.[2] Approximately half of them study in Falun, the administrative capital of the province, while the rest study in the neighbouring town of Borlänge and via distance education.
