Master Gear Converter Manufacturer Sega Generation Fourth generation Media Sega Master System, Sega Game Gear and Sega Master System cartridges The Master Gear or Master Gear Converter is a device made by Sega for the Sega Game Gear which enables Sega Master System cartridges to be played on a Game Gear.
Design and features
The Master Gear Converter plugs into the Game Gear handheld system just as any standard Game Gear cartridge would.[1] The Master Gear has an additional cartridge slot that is larger than the Game Gear's cartridge slot, enabling it to accept cartridges intended for the Sega Master System. Once a Master System cartridge is inserted into a Master Gear Converter that is plugged into a Game Gear unit, it is recognized and treated as a standard Game Gear cartridge.
