Medal record Men's Field Hockey Competitor for Australia Olympic Games Bronze 2008 Beijing Team Champions Trophy Gold 2008 Rotterdam Team Gold 2010 Mönchengladbach Team Des Abbott (born 10 January 1986 in Darwin, Northern Territory) is a field hockey forward from Australia, who won the gold medals with the Men's National Team at the 2008 Champions Trophy in Rotterdam, and the 2009 Champions Trophy in Melbourne. He was selected for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where Australia placed third. He is captain of the NT Stingers in the National Hockey League and has been part of the Australian team since 2007.
