Mark Krasniqi was born on October 19, 1920 in Gllavicica (Kokaj), near Peć, in Kosova. He finished his elementary school in Peć and attended high school in Prizren, finishing it in 1941. After high school, he studied literature in University of Padova, Italy and after the World War II he studied Geography and Ethnography in the University of Belgrade, where he graduated in 1950.[1]
After his graduation until the end of 1961 he worked in the Science Academy in Belgrade, in the Institute of Ethnography. From 1961 he is a professor in the University of Pristina; he is also a member of Science Academy of Kosovo.[1] He earned his PhD in the University of Ljubljana in 1960. He published various studies and scientific books on ethnography and geography as well as textbooks.[1] He was most widely known as a writer, especially for his poetry for children. His books include: “Përrallat e gjyshit”, “Drita e parë”, “Posta e porositur”, “Lepuri analfabet”.[1]
