Liao Hui (weightlifter)

Liao Hui ( _zh. 廖辉, Pinyin: Liào Huī, born October 5, 1987 in Xiantao, Hubei) is a male Chinese weightlifter. He beat two junior world records in the 69 kg category to clinch the gold in 2007 at the 6th Chinese City Games. [http://english.cri.cn/2886/2007/11/01/1681@290107.htm] He won a gold medal in the 69 kg class at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Liao Hui entered the national weightlifting team in early 2007. After breaking two junior world records in 2007, he turned into a candidate of the national team from a backup of the 2012 Olympics. His performance even prevented veteran Olympic gold medalist Zhang Guozheng from attending the Beijing Olympics.
