Crist Ballas

Crist Ballas (b. August 11, 1965, Saint Paul, Minnesota) is a make-up artist for major motion pictures and special events. His recent television and movie credits include The Love Guru, The Forbidden Kingdom, The Warlords, Sweet Land, Changhen ge, Planetfall, Collateral Damage, Let's Bowl, Sugar & Spice, The 6th Day, and Reindeer Games. Ballas specializes in realism, using translucent and natural materials to create ultra-realistic characters for his films. He has designed wigs, dentures, prosthetics, contact lenses, and mechanical masks for human and non-human characters. His career began in 1982 and developed under the guidance of Dick Smith.^[1][2][3][4]

Through his Paul studio, Metamorphosis, he also performs visual miracles on brides, offering ultra-glamour services such as adding porcelain veneer to teeth, hiding tattoos, and designing prosthetics. In his spare time, Ballas paints with oils and spends time with his daughter.^[5]

Upcoming projects include designing prosthetics and makeup for the 2009 films, Into Temptation, The Perfect Age of Rock 'n' Roll, Star Trek, and 13 Hours in a Warehouse.^[1]
