Opened by the
London and North Western Railway , it joined theLondon Midland and Scottish Railway during the Grouping of 1923. The line then passed on to theLondon Midland Region of British Railways onnationalisation in 1948. The station was then closed by theBritish Transport Commission .The site today
Trains still pass at speed on the
West Coast Main Line , as part of theNorthampton Loop Line . As the station was closed by 1997 Lady Diana Spencer's funeral passed through Long Buckby station on its way to Althorp.References
