The 2d Air Refueling Squadron (2 ARS) is part of the 305th Air Mobility Wing at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey. It operates the KC-10 Extender aircraft conducting aerial refueling missions.

Mission

History

Evidently the 2d served as a flying training unit from, 1917–18 November 1918. It flew combat in the Philippines in December 1941, when Japanese attacks destroyed its aircraft, its surviving personnel were absorbed by other units. The squadron was carried as an active unit without personnel from December 1941 until 2 April 1946. It has flown air refueling missions from, 1950–1963 and since 1989, including aerial refueling support in Southwest Asia from, August 1990–April 1991.
