Evidently the 2d served as a flying training unit from,
1917 –18 November 1918 . It flew combat in thePhilippines in December1941 , whenJapan ese attacks destroyed its aircraft, its surviving personnel were absorbed by other units. The squadron was carried as an active unit without personnel from December 1941 until2 April 1946 . It has flownair refueling missions from,1950 –1963 and since1989 , including aerial refueling support inSouthwest Asia from, August1990 –April1991 .
