Shorthampton

Shorthampton

Shorthampton is a hamlet about 3 kilometres (2 mi) west of Charlbury in the English county of Oxfordshire.

The small 12th-century parish church of All Saints contains several Mediaeval murals, including a rare one of the "Miracle of the Clay Birds" [http://www.paintedchurch.org/shtonbir.htm] from the apocryphal Gospel of Nicodemus and another of Saint Zita [http://www.paintedchurch.org/shtonzit.htm] . All Saints belongs to the Benefice of Charlbury with Shorthampton, and most services are now held at the parish church of St Mary the Virgin, Charlbury. [http://www.charlburychurch.co.uk/home.htm]
