Anthony Newett

Anthony Newett (born August 14, 1967) is a record producer and songwriter based in the Philadelphia area.

In 2002, Newett was nominated for two Grammy Awards for his work on the motion picture, "Strut". He has teamed up with Los Angeles based songwriter Allan Rich in the past. Rich's credits include "Run To You" (Whitney Houston), "I Don't Have The Heart" (James Ingram), "For The First Time" (Kenny Loggins). Newett also wrote and performed a song for the 1998 Jennifer Tilly movie, "Relax... It's Just Sex".

Newett frequently collaborates with various industry veterans in both the capacity of co-writer and producer, including, Kenny Nolan, best known for "My Eyes Adored You" (Frankie Valli), "Lady Marmalade" (Patti LaBelle). Newett has also produced for songwriting team Ashford & Simpson ("Ain't No Mountain High Enough", "Solid as a Rock") and Britney Spears' original talent scout, Billy Kahn.

Newett's first national release was for jazz artist, Clyde Terrell in 1998. Newett played every instrument and produced Terrell's "Out of the Shadows" album. The album consists mostly of well-known standards and the original music of Jimmy Thompson, also in the Philadelphia area. Mr. Thompson wrote the title song, "Out of the Shadows". Although many of Jimmy Thompson's songs have been written within the last 2 to 3 decades, his music fits perfectly with the standards ranging from the 30's to the 50's. The production work (and instrumental) work Newett did on Clyde Terrell's album resulted in Newett gaining voting status with the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (entitling him to vote on the Grammy Awards). To be a voting member, you have to have a minimum of 6 national releases. Since this time, Newett has had countless national releases; mostly jingle type work for radio.

You can catch Newett's instrumental work on the nationally-syndicated radio program, The Glenn Beck Program. Beck has approximately 289 affiliates, and 8 million listeners. Some of Newett's more well-known musical segments include Beck's politically correct version of the Christmas classic "O Holy Night", known on his program as "O Somewhat Important Night". Glenn Beck is now hosting his own television show on CNN's Headline News, Monday through Friday at 7:00pm Eastern Time, repeating at 9:00pm and Midnight. You'll catch some of Newett's work there as well as Glenn's live, stage shows that tour the country in the early summer and his well known Christmas tour. He is currently working on a total re-vamp of the Christmas show, which will premier next year, 2008. It is absolutely amazing and you will not be disappointed. Newett is scoring all of the music for the new Christmas show. Also, please Look out for the soon to be released DVDs of his live performances, including Newett's instrumental work.

Glenn says, "We have been hunting for someone like Anthony for a very long time. I have found that Anthony doesn't just write and produce, he writes and produces MAGIC. No matter if we are looking for a real jingle, song or comedy piece for the radio show, Anthony can do it. Now he scores our stage productions as well as brilliant, heart felt music for our TV show. He continues to surpass our expectations with every new project. It's always fun and THRILLING to work with talent like this... too bad it happens so rarely."

Anthony's studio is in Abington, PA and he works with a large number of talented singers and songwriters. So far, more than 6 songs he has produced for his local clients have won first or second place in national contests.
