Sahibzada Abdul Latif

Sahibzada Abdul Latif, an Afghan of Khost, was stoned to death on July 14, 1903 by order of the Afghanistan authorities for the crime of belonging to the Ahmadiyya movement. He was an eminent member of the Ulama of Afghanistan and the second recognized martyr of the Ahmadiyya community. He was called “Raees-e-Kabul” (Wealthiest of Kabul). Sahibzada Abdul Latif was the descendant of the renowned Islamic saint Data Ganj Baksh.

In 1893 he was appointed a member of the Royal Commission, set up to negotiate terms with the British and the two parties camped near the border in Parachanar [ [http://www.thefrontierpost.com/News.aspx?ncat=ar&nid=361 Durand line Past Present and Future Dr Khurrum Shaukat Yusafzai] ] . In 1902 he visited Qadian and joined the Ahmadiyya movement offering Bay'ah to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad.
