Extra MSA Services Ltd is a company which operates motorway service stations in the United Kingdom, as well as areas on primary routes. It is based on Castle Hill Lincoln close to Lincoln Cathedral.

Market dominance

It is the fourth largest service station operator in the UK behind Moto (1st), Welcome Break (2nd) and RoadChef (3rd). It came in to operation after the government deregulated motorway services to encourage more competition and its first site opened in 2001, at Cambridge.

It currently operates a total of 9 service areas as follows:
* Baldock
* Blackburn with Darwen
* Cambridge
* Cullompton
* Derby with Burton (A50/A38)
* Leicester
* Peterborough

Petrol Stations & Basic Services Only

* Chesterfield
* Winchester
* Folkestone

Future Stations

Extra is currently the fastest developing service station operator in the UK with three areas opening, one each year until 2010. All of their future sites are maximising areas of the road system that have few service areas. The most recent station to open was at Leicester in early 2008. These future sites are developed by Swayfields Ltd, who part of the Extra company.Service stations opening soon are:
* Beaconsfield J2 M40 (2009)
* Cobham J9/10 M25 (2010)
* Catherine-de-Barnes J4 M42

Facilities

Extra motorway service areas have eateries including McDonald's, Pizza Hut, KFC and Le Petit Four Francais. Petrol stations are provided by Shell and hotels are operated by Travelodge and Purple Hotels.
