Basford North railway station

Basford North railway station

Basford North railway station was a former railway station to serve Basford and Bulwell in Nottinghamshire. It was close to the River Leen which it crossed with a nine-arch brick viaduct. [Higginson, M., (1989) "The Friargate Line:Derby and the Great Northern Railway," Derby: Golden Pingle Publishing]

It was opened as Basford and Bulwell by the Great Northern Railway (Great Britain) on its Derbyshire Extension in 1875-6, and was renamed Basford North when Bulwell got its own station (Bulwell Market)

It closed in 1964. There were further stations at Bulwell Common, Bulwell Forest and Bulwell Hall. [http://www.systemed.plus.com/New_Adlestrop_Railway_Atlas.pdf]
