Naseem Kharal

Naseem Ahmed Kharal (Sindhi: نسيم کرل)(June 29, 1939 - July 14, 1978) was a famous Sindhi short story writer[1]. He was born on June 29, 1939, in Taluka Gambat, Khairpur District.

Personal life

His father's name was Abdul Kareem Kharal. He was eldest of all the seven siblings,he has four brothers and two sisters,whose names are as follows;Faheem Ahmed Kharal alias Abdul Rasheed Kharal, Tasneem Ahmed Kharal,Dr.Saleem Ahmed Kharal, Naeem Ahmed Kharal, Azeem Fatima and Aziz Fatima. He had one uncle whose name was Justice Abdul Raheem Kharal, he was the Chief Justice of Khairpur, when it was a princely state. Presently his youngest brother Naeem Ahmed Kharal has been twice elected as the Member of Provincial Assembly Sindh.

Naseem kharal married his cousin Anees Fatima, daughter of his uncle Abdul Raheem Kharal and they had six children,five daughters and a son,their names are Faryal, Zafreen,Charmaine,Maria,Summan & a son Faisal Dara Shikoh Kharal.

He was Landlord and also he has passed BA and LLB[2].

Career

By profession he was a lawyer,but he never practiced and stuck to his roots of agriculture. It was his fondness of writing that made him one of the greatest short story writers of Sindh. His famous work includes Pahrein Murad, Kafir , 34 dar and his published books are Shabnam Shabnam Kanwal Kanwal (1966), Akhyoon Arsiyoon (1968), Khirnda Khatinhar, Chotihoon Dar (1973) and Dummy.

Death

He died on July 14, 1978 in Khairpur.[2].
