The International Association of Science and Technology for Development or IASTED (read "eye-ass-ted", also pronounce "E-Ah-Sted") is an international non-profit organization for the promotion of economic and cultural advancement.
It was established in 1977, and is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. IASTED’s main purpose is to hold academic conferences, primarily in the areas of computer science, and electrical and mechanical engineering. It holds more than 40 conferences each year in locations all over the world.
