Callum Monks is a fictional character in the BBC soap opera "EastEnders". Character creation

It was announced on 26 June 2008 that a new character, Callum, would be introduced to "EastEnders" as the son of already established character Vinnie Monks (played by Bobby Davro). The character has been described as a "lothario", "Casanova" and "Jack-the-lad".

The role of Callum was given to Elliott Jordan, who had previously appeared in "EastEnders" in August 2005 as Gavin, an acquaintance of Leo Taylor (Philip Dowling). Of his casting, Jordan said: "I am thrilled and really excited to be joining "EastEnders". Callum is a great part to play and I can't wait for him to make his mark in Walford." "EastEnders" executive producer, Diederick Santer commented: "Callum - played by the very talented and striking Elliott Jordan - will bring a breath of fresh air to Walford. Bright, twinkly, and with the gift of the gab, he'll get the women of Walford all of a flutter."

Callum was first seen standing outside the home of Dot Branning, where he witnessed a half-naked Stacey Branning sneaking out of the house to avoid being seen by Dot. Callum liked what he saw, and for the remainder of the day he flirted with Stacey. However after trying to buy her a drink, Stacey rejected him by telling him that she was "out of his league". Unperturbed, Callum continued trying to win Stacey, but after discovering that she was married he decided to back off.

It later transpired that he was the son of Vinnie Monks after Vinnie caught him squatting in the flat he shared with Minty Peterson and Garry Hobbs whilst they were on a boys' holiday. During their conversation it was revealed that Vinnie had let Callum get away with murder when he was younger, and Callum still held a grudge on his father for walking out on his mother after having an affair. Also during their conversation Callum revealed that he had been thrown out of his flat that he shared with three women after they discovered he had been having sex with all three of them.

He soon found that he could not get Stacey out of his mind and as a result he got himself a job on Ian Beale's fruit and veg stall so that he could be near her. He then began flirting with her assistant Danielle Jones in a bid to make her jealous, but Stacey saw right through him and warned him to back off from hurting Danielle in a bid to get to her. However, Callum wasn't giving up without a fight and he invited Danielle to join him as his date to Stacey's husband Bradley Branning's belated 21st birthday party in September 2008. Stacey was furious that he'd been invited, and further infuriated when Bradley revealed that he wanted to be friends with Callum. After having a row with Bradley over money Stacey ran into Callum, who had just let Danielle down gently, at the party and they ended up in a passionate embrace before Stacey remembered herself and ran away.

Stacey Branning caught Callums's eye from the first moment he saw her continuing to pursue her until he found out she was married. He backed off a bit but after their kiss he was sure that she if she loved Bradley as much as she say's she wouldn't have kissed him. So he took on Danielle to try and make Stacey jealous. Later on he mentioned to Stacey how everytime he looked up she was "clocking" him.
