Bradley Branning is a fictional character in the popular BBC soap opera "EastEnders". He is played by Charlie Clements. He made his first appearance on screen on 24 January 2006.

Background

Bradley was conceived when his parents, Max and Rachel, were just 17 years old. The three of them lived happily as a family for nearly six years. Unfortunately, Max couldn't cope with being a young husband and father and eventually began an affair with an 18 year old girl named Tanya Cross. When Tanya became pregnant, Max left his wife and son to marry his mistress. Bradley has never fully recovered from his father's abandonment.

History

Bradley moved to Walford from Tring to live with his grandfather Jim and his wife Dot when he got a job as a banker in the city. Later that year, Bradley's estranged father Max moved to Albert Square. At first Bradley wanted nothing to do with Max, who had deserted him and his mother Rachel when he was younger, however, he eventually softened towards Max, and they bonded.Bradley befriended Stacey Slater upon his arrival, and after being wrongly accused and arrested for spiking Stacey's drink, and a string of failed dates arranged by Jim, Dot and Stacey's great uncle Charlie, a romantic relationship developed between the two. Stacey later discovered she was pregnant with Bradley's baby, but Bradley persuaded her to have an abortion, and tell their friends and families that she had had a miscarriage. They drifted apart, and when Bradley didn't invite Stacey to his work's Christmas party, she turned up and embarrassed him, leading to the couple's breakup.

Bradley then had romances with his colleague Lydia Asler and Preeti Choraria. Unknown to Bradley, Stacey had embarked on an affair with Max, in revenge for Bradley dumping her. Max ended the affair by taking his family to Spain for six weeks, and while he was away, Bradley and Stacey reconciled and got engaged. They married in November 2007, although Stacey had one last kiss with Max after the wedding, which was recorded by Max's daughter Lauren's hidden camcorder. Lauren later gave the DVD of Max and Stacey's kiss to Bradley for Christmas, and the affair was revealed. Bradley and Stacey broke up, and he moved away from Walford.

Bradley then returned, after Stacey tracked him down and he asked her for a divorce. He grew close to Clare Bates, but turned her down when she came onto him. He was sexually harassed by his boss, Maggie Townsend, who sacked him after Dot berated her for her behaviour. In June 2008, Stacey's mother Jean and Dot locked Bradley and Stacey in Dot's house, and Bradley revealed that he was still in love with Stacey. She said that she could not reunite with him as she had not forgiven herself for the affair, but Bradley later kissed her and she responded, and they got back together. Their relationship ran smoothly until August 2008, when Stacey confessed to Bradley that she may be pregnant which turned out to be untrue. The couple have now started trying for a baby however. On the 21st August, Max gave Bradley his 21st birthday card with a cheque in it for £40,000.

On 9th September 2008, Bradley found Stacey in a compromising position with Callum Monks.

Over the past month, Bradley and Stacey had been trying for a baby, but unbeknown to him, Stacey had been hiding contraceptive pills in which Danielle Jones discovered and confronted Stacey about her doubts for a baby. He eventually discovered this but only to find out more about her secret love with Callum. This broke Bradley's heart and they are now separated again.

Immediately after, Bradley took the rest of the money Max had given him previously and attempted to get rid of some of it in a betting shop, he put a £10,000 bet on an unfavored horse and won with it, leaving him with far more money than he previously had and no idea of what to do with it.
