Ash Wednesday is an Australian musician.
Wednesday played synthesizer in
JAB (1976 - 1979) andThe Models (1979 - 1980). In 1980 he released a solo single, "Love By Numbers". He formed experimental outfitThe Metronomes with Al Webb andAndrew Picouleau . Throughout the early 1980s, he was a member of Modern Jazz, an improvisation group who performed to randomly generatedtechno beats. In 1988 he joined electronic / industrial bandCrashland .Wednesday moved to
Berlin in 1992, where he worked withNina Hagen , being involved with pre-production and programming for the album "Freud Euch" ("Bee Happy") (1995).Since 1997, Wednesday has been a touring member of the legendary German band
Einstürzende Neubauten . He completed several world tours with them and is present on their live albums, such as09-15-2000, Brussels and numerous recordings from the Perpetuum Mobile tour (2004).In 1999 he returned to Melbourne and formed The Tingler (with Crashland vocalist Lyn Gordon) and
