United States Census Bureau , the borough has a total area of 0.9square mile s (2.3km² ), of which, 0.8 square miles (2.1 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (7.87%) is water.Demographics

census GR|2 of 2000, there were 784 people, 322 households, and 200 families residing in the borough. Thepopulation density was 947.1 people per square mile (364.7/km²). There were 360 housing units at an average density of 434.9/sq mi (167.5/km²). The racial makeup of the borough was 98.85% White, 0.26% Native American, 0.38% Asian, and 0.51% from two or more races.There were 322 households out of which 29.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.3% were married couples living together, 12.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.6% were non-families. 35.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.30 and the average family size was 2.94.
In the borough the population was spread out with 23.5% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to 24, 23.3% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 23.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 77.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 77.5 males.
