- Electric Fountain
The Electric Fountain is a water fountain located in
Beverly Hills, California on the corner of Santa Monica andWilshire Boulevard s. The fountain pays homage to the founding of the city. It is built on land donated by theRodeo Land and Water Company . [Wanamaker, Marc. "Beverly Hills: 1930-2005". page 9.] It features a statue of aTongva (a member of the local Native American tribe) kneeling in prayer. It gives thanks to the fertility and abundance of land. The statue is said to be modeled after Gradin Newsom.
