Pan Jiazheng

PAN Jiazheng (Traditional Chinese: 潘傢錚, Simplified Chinese: 潘家铮), is a well-known Chinese hydraulic engineer and scientist.

Introduction

Pan is current Honorary President of the Chinese National Committee on Large Dams. He's an academician and the Vice-president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), and an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences [http://www.icold-cigb.org.cn/newsview-en.asp?s=2999] . He's the former Chief Director of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering [ [http://www.csrme.com/CN/xhjj.html 中国岩石力学与工程学会:学会简介 ] ] , and the technical chief for the Three Gorges Dam.

Pan was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province in 12 November 1927. He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering, Zhejiang University in 1950.
