Jon Gibson (minimalist musician)

Jon Gibson (b. March 11, 1940; Los Angeles, California) is a flautist, saxophonist, and composer who uses other instruments from around the world in his performances and is known for his jazz and classical contributions. He was a founding member and longtime performer with the Philip Glass Ensemble for many years, and also performed in the premiers of "In C" by Terry Riley, and "Drumming" by Steve Reich. He has also performed and recorded with a number of other minimalist composers, and is an accomplished visual artist.
