Route 283 is a bus route operated by National Express West Midlands in the West Midlands, England.
History
This service used to be Travel Merry Hill's route 93 between Merry Hill Centre and Dudley and National Express West Midlands route 525 between Dudley and Bilston. The 93 also extended to Wall Heath in Kingswinford but was replaced in 2000 by route 260 (now 254 and 255) and route 261 (section now 259). There was a few stand alone 283 journeys operated by a variety of operators under Centro contract. In Dudley, the route entering to go the Bus Station from Merry Hill has been changed 5 times back and forth between 2 roads.
The 283 had extra journeys after 19:00 to replace route 274/275 between Dudley and Merry Hill in the 2008 Dudley Network Review.
