Iraq–Slovenia relations

Slovenia-Iraq relations are the bilateral relations between Slovenia and Iraq.

Slovenia and Iraq established relations in 2005,cite web |url=http://www.ukom.gov.si/eng/slovenia/publications/slovenia-news/1987/1992/ |title=Slovenia Iraq Relations |accessdate=2008-08-14 |publisher=ukom.gov.si] when Slovenian and Iraqi ambassadors to the UN, Roman Kirn and Samir Sumaidaie, signed an agreement at the UN headquarters in New York. Slovenia is the first European country to establish diplomatic relations with Iraq since the appointment of the new Iraqi government.Prior to this agreement, Slovenia was already assisting Iraq through NATO and other international organizations.

Slovenia did not make efforts to establish relations during the reign of former Iraqi president, Saddam Hussein.
