Flash Harry is a fictional character from the St. Trinian's movies who first appears in the 1954 The Belles of St Trinian's. The term refers to "an ostentatious, loudly-dressed, and usually ill-mannered man" [Oxford English Dictionary] , who may also be a spiv. Sir Malcolm Sargent was also (and earlier) nicknamed "Flash Harry" ["Music Educators Journal", Vol. 54, No. 4 (Dec., 1967), page 13] .
In the St Trinian's movies, Harry runs the St Trinian's Matrimonial Agency for the Sixth Form girls. He puts bets on race horses for the pupils, and also helps them to bottle and sell their laboratory-created gin.

In the 2007 movie, called St. Trinian's "Flash Harry" was played by Russell Brand. It is not yet clear if Brand will return to the role for the 2009 sequel .
