- Kfar Hoshen
Kfar Hoshen (
Hebrew : כפר חושן), formerly known as Safsufa (ספסופה), is amoshav about 4 km north of Meron in northernIsrael . It belongs to theMerom HaGalil Regional Council .The moshav was founded in 1949 by immigrants to Israel from
Bulgaria and with the support of theMoshavim Movement . The population was changed in early years by immigrants fromYemen , and starting in 1953 immigrants fromMorocco andTunisia also came.Children in the community learn in schools nearby.
*Elementary schools: "Nof Harim" school inSasa , a religious school in Meron and aHaredi school inSafed ;
*High schools: "Anne Frank " school in Sasa, "Amit" in Safed, and dormitories outside the area.The residents work in agriculture and tourism.
The original name "Safsufa" is based on an identical name found in the
Talmud , whose name is preserved in the village Safsaf. (The Hebrew word "Safsaf" means an area where fruits ripen later than usual.)Fact|date=June 2008
