The BSA – The Business Services Association – is the body that represents UK outsourced service providers as they operate across the private and public sectors [ [ BSA Website] ] .

The BSA works closley with government, politicians, regulators, the media and other stakeholders to promote the interests of the industry.

Its Chief Executive is Mark Fox [ [ BSA appoints new Chief Executive] ] .


"Full" members of the BSA [ [ BSA Members/Partners] ] provide business and outsourced services and have a combined worldwide turnover of around £67 billion and employ around 1.5 million people. In the UK these firms have a combined turnover of around £14 billion and employ around 340,000 employees [ [ BSA Website] ] . A full list of "full" members is available below.

"Associate" members [ [ BSA Members/Partners] ] are professional firms including accountants, lawyers and consultants who advise in the sector; a full list of these is also available below.

The BSA also works with a number of 'strategic partners' [ [ BSA Members/Partners] ] with whom it tries to further the interests of their members.


The BSA works to promote its members' interests by lobbying and advising Governments, workers and trade unions, networking with other businesses and creating intelligence through analysis of Government policies and compilation of statistics.

The BSA conducts considerable research work and is currently embarking on projects on the success of outsourced services in the UK, how outsourced services can fulfil the ‘military covenant’, and on where the industry can go from now, amongst others.

The organisation also publishes policy statements on Government policies.
