The Netherlands Biotechnological Association (Abbreviation: "NBV", Dutch: Nederlandse Biotechnologische Vereniging) is the association for Life Sciences professionals working in biotechnology in The Netherlands.

The NBV organises the Netherlands Biotechnology Congress (NBC) and there are several working groups which organise seminars and workshops.

Working groups

The NBV has ten working groups operating within different areas of biotechnology. Each strives to organize activities twice a year. The following working groups exist:
*Agro-biotechnology (AB)
*Bioreactors (BR)
*Animal and plant cell culture (DP)
*Civil aspects of biotechnology (MA)
*Microbial Systemsbiology (MSB)
*Environmental biotechnology (MI)
*Product isolation and purification (PZ)
*Applied biocatalysis (TB)
*Platform Microbial Physiology (TM)
*Applied molecular genetics (TMG)

Netherlands Biotechnology Congress (NBC)

The NBV organises a biannual two-day congress. The congress deals with subjects in medical, agro/food, industrial and environmental biotechnology. Apart from this two Dutch national prizes are awarded during the congress: the prize for the highschool competition 'Imagine' and the 'Silver Hourglass' (Dutch: 'Zilveren Zandloper') prizes for innovation and education in biotechnology.

The 13th NBC will take place on March 10th and 11th 2010.
