The Singapore parliamentary general election of 1968 was an election that took place in Singapore on 19 April, 1968, the first election held after Singapore declared independence from Malaysia. Based on results from a poll of Singapore citizens from their respective constituencies, the elections decided how to allocate the total of 58 seats for the the Parliament of Singapore, to nominated candidates. This is the first of four elections that the People's Action Party will control all seats in the Parliament.
