[See the following two articles from Mother Jones: [http://www.motherjones.com/riff_blog/archives/2008/03/7705_garfield_minus.html] ; [http://www.motherjones.com/riff_blog/archives/2008/07/9125_interview_garfi.html] ] Each strip consists of an episode from the comic stripGarfield , from which all main and/or non-essential characters except Garfield's owner,Jon Arbuckle , have been removed throughphoto manipulation .The resulting strips thus consist of Jon talking to himself (or not talking at all), and any sudden change in behaviour appears to be due to Jon thinking or realizing something, rather than a reaction to someone interacting with him. Certain strips make Jon seem as though he suffers from extreme
depression .or|date=September 2008Garfield artist
