Opened by the
Barry Railway Company it became part of theGreat Western Railway during the Grouping of 1923. The line then passed on to theWestern Region of British Railways onnationalisation in 1948. It was then closed by theBritish Railways Board . The line remained open to provide freight access toAberthaw Power Station .The site today
Trains on the reopened
Vale of Glamorgan Line pass the site between Rhoose and Llantwit Major stations, although there is no station at Aberthaw now.References
