Leicester Forest East services is a

1966 , based on an Italian design used on theAutostrada s. This design is very rare in Britain. At the time of opening it was operated by theRoss Group featured aTerence Conran designed restaurant with waitress service. While it no longer has its
silver service restaurant , it does contain a number of shops and fast food outlets straddling the motorway. There is no legal vehicular access to the motorway service station from nearby

There are plans to widen the M1 and improve the interchange to the M69; Leicester Forest East services might permanently close when this occurs in 2017.
