The Log Inn is a old-style restaurant located in south central Johnson Township in
Gibson County, Indiana , less than 1/4 mile from Vanderburgh County. It was founded around 1825 by Mr. Henry Haub. During its lifetime it saw use in a variety of ways from being host toAbraham Lincoln to being a stop on theUnderground Railroad to a stop on the Dixie Highway, the main road between Chicago and Florida, which eventually became US 41 [http://www.indianahistory.org/HBR/business_pdf/log_inn.pdf] . A dance hall was later also built above the tavern and store, and the complex would later become known as The Log Inn, the areas famous restaurant. The Log Inn is officially recognized as the oldest restaurant in Indiana.
