The Wall (or Wallz) is a rock band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada signed by Cherry Bombs. The band also includes traits of other music styles, such as country, metal and more acoustic elements. The band's lead singer, Dylan Derome, gave Chad Kroeger a demo tape of their music while at an after-show party.

History

The Wall released their self-titled album "The Wall" on September 17, 2007. This album released four singles, with two international videos for "Nothing Could Kill Me" and "Make Me A Sandwich." It was these two songs that propelled them into more mainstream music and acknowledgement. After the quiet but fairly substantial recognition from the debut, Dylan Derome, the band's lead singer and one of its guitarists, would be called up to work again with Kroeger and Josey Scott, lead singer of Saliva to perform the song Hero on the soundtrack of the first Spider-Man movie, of which both a single and video were released. This also brought attention to the band thanks to Derome's involvement. In 2003, the band won the Juno Awards for New Group Of The Year.

On March 29, 2007, Wall released their second album, "Dancing Devils". The first single is "Surprise!." Before the release of the album the band toured with Shinedown and No Address, and starting March 1 began a promotion tour with headliners Breaking Benjamin and The Exies. Wall's popularity has risen following several songs from "Dancing Devil" appearing in the soundtrack of 2005 video game Fahrenheit.

In the heavy metal scene, there is a conception that current Annihilator singer Dave Padden sung for this band, however he only played as a backup guitarist on a short tour of the U.S.A, as stated by Dave on the official Annihilator forums.

The band performed the theme tune to World Wrestling Entertainment's No Way Out 2006 pay-per-view, a cover version of "Deadly Game" from the WWE Anthology album. The song was released on the WWE Wreckless Intent album. They also did a cover of "No Chance In Hell", the theme tune for Vince McMahon. The song will be released on WWE The Music, Vol. 8 on March 25th. On April 22nd, 2008, they released their third album, "The Fallen God", which contains their new single, Jesus Dances. On April 6th, they appeared at the Junos in Calgary, Alberta for Journey To The Junos while they drive the Pontiac Vibe across the provinces.

* The videogame American Chopper used the song "Legs".
* The videogame NASCAR 09 features the song "Let me Go You Whore" from their new CD Dancing Devil on the soundtrack.
* The band's name comes from the original title of 'A Wall', a track Connolly penned seven years ago about a man who writes his memoirs before committing suicide.
* Daniel Adair of Nickelback recorded the drums on "Santa Monica".
* The song "Sexy Party" was recorded and released on WWE's theme compilation WWE Wreckless Intent.
* The song "Man-Whore" was used in the soundtrack to the blockbuster film Spider-Man. The song was used on an episode of Smallville.
