Song Meaning

"In Left Behind, there is alot of metaphors of Corey attempting to explain what is happening to him. The basis of the song is that a dear friend of Corey was never actually there. The person was always trying to be someone else, and never said what they wanted to, did what they wanted to, etc. Because of this, Corey cannot deal with it and is ending their relationship. He is extremely depressed and is not too stable of himself and is giving the statement that if the person tries to get close to him again, that he will take drastic actions. "I think it is about a guy who has seen his friend change but he has'nt changed with him. His friend got into drugs and became addicted. The more he got into drugs the more he left his friend behind. Music video

The music video for "Left Behind" focuses on a young boy who is first seen cutting up goat in a market. He then goes to his dirty, rundown home where bullies throw stones through his windows. The boy uses a chocolate milk dispenser on his Froot Loops and watches Slipknot on an old television set. The band is shown performing the song in a dead forest that, toward the end of the video, is heavily rained on as the song becomes even more intense. This video marked the video debut of Slipknot's new costumes.Fact|date=September 2008
