* St Thomas’s has, since its very beginnings in 1859, been the most significant church in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England in Huddersfield and the surrounding district.
*Today St Thomas’s serves its immediate area and also the former parish of Paddock.
*A short walk from the town centre, along the Manchester Road will take you to the church, unmistakeable because of its impressive spire. Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, St Thomas’s is one of Huddersfield’s most significant ecclesiastical buildings.
*Inside the church the visitor will the find an interior completely remodelled in 1990 to provide space for the community to meet and for the liturgy to be celebrated with dignity in a thoroughly contemporary style.

* In year 2009, St Thomas's Church will be celebrating it's 150th anniversary of consecration, 1859-2009.

* St Thomas' is also one of the 6 churches that make up the quarterly fellowship group 'Churches Together in the Lower Colne Valley'. The other churches are: Milnsbridge Baptist Church; St Mark's Church Longwood; Golcar Methodist Church; Parkwood Methodist Church; The Friends' Meeting House, Paddock.
