Powells Creek

Powells Creek

Powells Creek is located in Sydney, Australia. The creek rises as a concrete stormwater channel in the inner-western suburb of Strathfield before flowing north-west through the suburb of Homebush. From its beginning in Strathfield, Powells Creek remains confined to a narrow concrete culvert until just north of Allen Street, Homebush, where it then broadens into a wider concrete channel. The creek then flows north past Bressington Park and into the suburb of Homebush Bay. At it's confluence with Saleyards Creek at the northern end of Bressington Park, Powells Creek loses its concrete banks and becomes a natural waterway lined with mangroves, continuing its course through Bientennial Park before emptying into Homebush Bay.
