Specialist is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe. The character exists in the Marvel 2099 line, which takes place in an alternate future.

Fictional character biography

The man who would later become known as the Specialist was born in Osaka, Japan in the late 21st Century. The Specialist worked for Tyler Stone as an assassin and field operative for the Stark/Fujikawa Corporation in the year 2099. At the behest of Tyler Stone, the Specialist captured Kasey Nash in order to lure the Spider-Man of that era into battle. ["Spider-Man 2099" #4] As the Specialist battled Spider-Man, his throat was slit. ["Spider-Man 2099" #5]

Powers and abilities

The Specialist is an athletic man with no superhuman powers, and is an expert martial artist, trained as a samurai warrior. He is highly proficient with various martial arts weaponry of the late 21st Century. He wears an unrevealed bulletproof fabric insulated against electric shock and body armor of unknown materials. He wields a 4' samurai sword capable of slicing through solid steed, and also carries shurikens and nunchakus. He is a skilled hovercraft pilot and uses a one-man hovercraft. All of his equipment is supplied by the Stark/Fujikawa Corporation.
