It provides a framework within which local tasks common to the six member communes can be carried out together.
The communauté de communes was established in 2001, and has a population of 17767 in an area of 89 km².[1]
Amongst its other responsibilities, the communauté de communes organises the Festival Ludique International de Parthenay, a major games festival held in Parthenay every July.
