Michael Ramzi Karam (born in London, England on May 1, 1965) is an English-born author and journalist. He is notably the author of the award-winningWines of Lebanon and the two locally famous Life's Like That books.

Career

Karam wrote his first book Wines of Lebanon,[1] which won the 2005 Gourmand Award for best book on New World Wine. Norbert Schiller was the photographer.

His second book, Arak And Mezze: The Taste Of Lebanon is a about Lebanon's national drink and what best to eat with it. Norbert Schiller was also the photographer.

Between 2002 and 2007, Karam was also the editor of Executive, a Lebanese business magazine. In 2007, he was appointed executive director of New Opinion Workshop and NowLebanon, a post he held until March 2009.

In October 2010, he published Michael Karam's Lebanese Wines 2011,[2] a pocket paperback and first comprehensive guide to all the Lebanese wines currently on the market.

He now runs VineHouse Media, a communication consultancy.

Collaborations

Michael Karam collaborated with Peter Grimsditch and illustrator Maya Fidawi to compose their book "Life's Like That!: Your Guide to the Lebanese". The book was published in December 2004 by Turning Point.[3]

A sophomore guide was published under the name "Life's Even More Like That", containing new characters.[4]

Personal

He still writes on Lebanese affairs and wine.

He is married and has two children in Beirut, Lebanon.[citation needed]
