The game was developed simultaneously with
Sega Rally Revo . During development, it went under the codename of 'Super Challenge'. The game runs at 60fps at a 720p resolution as opposed to the 30 frames per second of its console counterpart due to the power of the new Sega Europa-R arcade hardware.Cabinet
Currently Sega Rally 3 is only available in a large single player deluxe cabinet but a twin (non-motion) cabinet is rumoured to be released soon.
The cabinet includes a 62"
High Definition DLP monitor and a dual actuatormotion simulation system which moves the players seat in direct response to the on screen action.Up to six cabinets can be linked for
multiplayer racing.Modes of Play
Championship
The single-player Championship mode pits players against the clock, the track and 21 other racers to win the rally. The rally takes place across three stages, and you need to complete two laps of each by reaching each checkpoint within the time limit.
Quick Race
The Quick Race mode allows you to pick from the three main courses and compete in a single six car race, and supports one to six players.
Classic
Classic mode returns to the history of the series, featuring a remake of the 1995 Desert course from the original Sega Rally Championship as well as a remix of the original music. The mode lets you choose from the cars from the original game - the
Toyota Celica ST205 and theLancia Delta HF integrale. In single player mode it’s you against one aggressive AI racer, which is in the car you didn’t pick. Multiplayer opens the field for up to six racers to battle.Courses

Trivia
Players who finish the Championship mode in first place will face the extra challenge of a one-on-one duel on an all new Lakeside track with an extremely tough AI opponent.
The Bonus cars are unlocked by holding down the brake pedal at the car select menu. However the bonus cars can only be used in Quick Race mode.
A small "Super Challenge" logo appears on the rear windscreen decal on the cabinet.
