Myat Hein

Myat Hein

Lieutenant General Myat Hein is a Burmese general and the current commander of Myanmar Air Force. As such he is titled as the Commander-in-Chief (Air).[1]

During 2001, Myat Hein held the rank of colonel and served in the post of Chief of Staff (Air).[2] The following year, Myat Hein remained as Chief of Staff (Air), and was promoted to brigadier general.[3] By 2003 he had been appointed Commander-in-Chief (Air) and held the rank of major general.[4] During his time as the Air Force commander, Myat Hein has maintained close links with China[5] and India.[6]

Myat Hain is married to Htwe Htwe Nyunt.[7]

The European Union has ordered that Myat Hein's funds be frozen inside its jurisdiction.[7]
