The South Terminal at
Austin Bergstrom International Airport , the first bespoke low-cost terminal in the US, became operational on1 May 2008 .The facility's main aim is to cater to
low-cost carrier s' needs, by providing an infrastructure suitable for quick turnarounds and simple passenger processing, whilst maintaining all core functions typically associated with an airport terminal.This enables airport charges to be lowered significantly to attract low-cost airlines, which otherwise might not consider serving
Austin, Texas .The current facility consists of a one-story building previously owned by the
