Richmond Shepard

Richmond Shepard (born 24 April 1929 in New York City) is an American writer, director, producer and mime. He has been involved in theater and film for over 50 years. He built, owned and operated his own theaters in Los Angeles on Theatre Row where he produced over 30 shows. He moved to New York and worked as a theatre and film critic for WNEW-AM [ [http://www.lortel.org/LLA_archive/index.cfm?search_by=people&first=Richmond&last=Shepard&middle= Lortel Archives-The Internet Off-Broadway Database ] ] , conceived and directed the off-Broadway show Noo Yawk Tawk at The Village Gate for three years.

He has traveled across the world performing with mime troupes and is currently performing with another improvisational comedy group in various clubs around NYC. His new off-Broadway theater, The Richmond Shepard Theater is located on the east side of Manhattan.

Richmond was married to a woman named Hadria. They have four daughters: Rosetta, Luana, Brianna and rock singer Vonda Shepard. In 1974 Hadria left Shepard and daughters without explanation and Richmond raised the girls by himself.
