María Cristina "Marita" Perceval (b. September 10, 1956, Mendoza, Argentina) is an Argentine politician and member of the Justicialist Party. She is currently serving as Subsecretary for Institutional Reform and Strengthening of Democracy, a department depending of the Cabinet Chief.^[1] She is a former Senator for Mendoza Province and was part of the majority Front for Victory parliamentary group.^[2]

Perceval is the daughter of Julio Perceval, a musician and founder of the music department of the National University of Cuyo (UNCuyo), and Alejandrina Suárez, the first female organist in Argentina. She graduated in philosophy in 1980 at UNCuyo and began a career in academia and public administration, as university professor and coordinating proyects for the provincial governments of Mendoza and Buenos Aires Provinces and the Argentine Chamber of Deputies. From 1993 to 1995 she was President of the Institute of Women of Mendoza.^[3]

María Perceval is married and has three children.

Perceval followed other left-wing Peronists into the FrePaSo coalition but later returned to the Justicialist Party. She was elected to the Senate in 2001 and re-elected in 2003. She was chairwoman of the Defence Committee. She stood as César Biffi's running mate in their unsuccessful 2007 campaign for Governor of Mendoza, a ticket endorsed by outgoing governor and vicepresidential candidate Julio Cobos. She is close to President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
