From 2000 to 2004, he was director of software engineering in the company’s server technologies division. He simultaneously represented Oracle at several standards organizations including PayCircle and the Open Mobile Alliance. He also led initial efforts promoting a standard protocol to support push email, leading to the first draft of Push IMAP.
