"The Other "L" Word" is the 124th episode of the television series "Third Watch" and the 13th episode of the 6th season.

Plot summary

While dealing with the radiation terrorist, the 55 Squad has to be evacuated, and a doctor finds something unusual about Maritza Cruz's health.

Plot details

Grace and Carlos get a call from the 55 Squad, and when they enter the building, their radiation controller goes ballistic. When they go to examine their patient, they find that half his teeth have fallen, and he is spitting blood, and they soon discover that he has a radiation source attached to his body. The building is evacuated, but Cruz, Carlos, Rice and Grace stay in quarantine. Grace insists they take the terrorist to the hospital, as he is their patient, but while they are taking him, he dies. As he was descending from the ambulance, Carlos meets Levine, but tells her not to be "anywhere near me", which Levine takes as Carlos not wanting to be anymore with her (but what Carlos meant was for her to stay away due to radiation). Carlos, Rice's and Grace's tests are all good, but Dr. Fields finds something unusual and very dangerous in Cruz's exams, but she doesn't want to be treated (the name of the illness is not mentioned). She then goes on to use the terrorist's car and track his accomplice, who she is able to take into custody after Rice gets shot.Meanwhile, Brendan goes to his father's funeral. Ty goes to the ceremony, and so does Grace, offering him comfort during this difficult period in his life. When Ty goes back to the station, Sully starts saying how C.T.'s way of dying is very suspicious, and that he was supposed to go on a hearing but was found dead in his car, which enrages Ty.When Carlos gets to Levine's apartment to ask for forgiveness, he finds a note with her handwriting saying that she has gone away. Faith spends a wonderful night with her daughter Emily watching movies and talking.The day after, Faith and Emily go to visit Bosco, who is going to be released. When he momentarily takes off his bandage, Emily screams as Bosco reveals a horrific injury, but he immediately puts it back. As he is leaving the hospital, Bosco is greeted by the entire 55 Squad with honors.

* This is the episode were we find out that Maritza Cruz is seriously sick, but what the illness is, is not revealed.

*Faith: It’s OK sweetie.
*Emily: I’m sorry.
