The Women and Girls Foundation (WGF) is an independent, community-based organization serving eleven counties in Southwest Pennsylvania. The stated goal of the foundation is to achieve equality in political representation, economic and civic participation and leadership development in the region. Their efforts include public advocacy, coalition building and grantmaking. The Executive Director of WGF is Heather Arnet. WGF was established as an independent 501(c) (3) in 2002 and has grown to include a donor base of several hundred individuals. It has received programmatic support from local foundations including Alcoa Foundation, The Pittsburgh Foundation, Eden Hall Foundation, FISA Foundation, The Forbes Funds, The Maurice Falk Fund, The Grable Foundation and The Raymond John Wean Foundation.
