Teresa Charlotte Silverman-McLeod Ryan, simply known as either Tess McLeod or Tess Ryan, was a character on the Australian drama series "McLeod's Daughters" from 2001-2006. She was portrayed by Bridie Carter. In the 1996 telemovie, Kym Wilson portrayed the character of Esther 'Tess' Silverman.

History

Tess was born at Drover's Run in 1976 to John 'Jack' McLeod and his second wife, Ruth McLeod (née Silverman). She had an older half-sister, Claire, from her father's first marriage to the now-deceased Prudence 'Prue' McLeod. She also had an older half-brother who died not long after birth, Adam.

There was much strain in Jack and Ruth's marriage from the beginning, and when Tess was five-years-old, Ruth left Jack and moved back to the city, taking Tess with her. Tess never saw her father again, and only returned to Drover's Run twenty years later following the death of him.
