Kevin Falcon is a Canadian politician in
British Columbia . He is currently the head of theBritish Columbia Ministry of Transportation .Falcon was first elected in 2001 as a British Columbia Liberal to represent the riding ofSurrey-Cloverdale , and re-elected in 2005.Before his election to the Legislative Assembly, Falcon was president of the Access Group, a corporate communications firm he formed in 1998. He has also worked in the
real estate development industry and was vice-president of Northwest Investment Properties. Prior to attending university, he spent five years working in the generalinsurance industry.He received his bachelor of arts from
Simon Fraser University and his real estate sales and mortgage broker's diploma from theUniversity of British Columbia . He attendedVancouver College when he was in high school.Falcon has been vice-president of the Cloverdale District
Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Surrey Museum and Archives advisory board, as well as belonging to the Cloverdale Rotary and Elks clubs. He was also a director of theSeaVancouver Festival , president of the Vancouver Junior Chamber of Commerce, and a volunteer with the Cloverdale RCMP Bike Patrol.Kevin Falcon is largely regarded as one of the more conservative members of caucus. As Minister of Transportation, he was one of the few ministers to keep his original portfolio in the cabinet shuffle following the election.
